Reading an investment contract note

A practical comparison checklist for your transaction evidence, not a promise that every broker uses the same document format.

Start with the original

An investment contract note or trade confirmation records details of a transaction. Document layouts differ. The checklist below is an editorial reading aid, not a statement of mandatory Rwanda fields or universal PDF import compatibility.

The general habit of comparing confirmations with account statements is supported by Investor.gov’s statement guide. Its US-specific account arrangements do not establish Rwanda rules.

A comparison checklist

Where present, locate:

  • The document issuer, account reference and transaction reference.
  • The investment name or identifier and whether the transaction is a purchase or sale.
  • Trade and settlement dates, quantity or nominal amount, price and currency.
  • Separately shown charges, deductions and the net settlement amount.

Compare these with your instructions and the associated statement. Ask the issuing broker to clarify missing, unexpected or inconsistent details. Do not assume an unexplained difference is an import error or a legitimate fee.

Review imported fields

Struct Capital supports selected document formats. Check extracted values against the original before accepting them. Format support is not a commercial partnership with the issuing broker. If a format is unsupported, use an available manual workflow rather than assuming every PDF can be read.
